Gulf Air, Bahrain’s national airline, is embarking on a new phase of development under a comprehensive strategic plan that runs through 2035, according to chief executive officer Martin Gauss in comments published by Akhbar Al Khaleej.
The strategy is designed to enhance the carrier’s position as a global representative of Bahrain while further establishing it as a preferred airline for international travellers.
Gauss said the airline has fully restored its operational network following a period of regional disruption, crediting the achievement to strong operational capability, skilled national employees, and the airline’s ability to respond effectively to challenges.
He added that Gulf Air continues to view each flight as an opportunity to promote Bahrain as a destination for tourism, business, and investment. According to him, the airline plays a consistent role in representing the kingdom at every international destination it serves, while highlighting Bahrain’s cultural, economic, and tourism profile.
The chief executive noted that Gulf Air currently provides access to more than 500 destinations worldwide through an extensive network of partnerships and codeshare arrangements with international carriers, reinforcing Bahrain’s growing position as an aviation hub.
He also highlighted the “Falcon Eye” initiative, a locally developed digital operations control system created by Bahraini professionals. The platform enables real-time monitoring of airline operations and incorporates artificial intelligence and data analytics to improve efficiency and enhance the passenger experience.
