Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) has renewed its long-term collaboration with global technology leader Thales, ensuring continued support and maintenance of critical security systems at Bahrain International Airport (BIA). The announcement was made during the Dubai Airshow, underscoring Bahrain’s ongoing investment in smart, secure, and digitally advanced airport operations.
Under the renewed agreement, Thales will continue overseeing the airport’s essential security infrastructure, including surveillance cameras, access control systems, public announcement platforms, and multiple digital system integrations. The partnership supports Bahrain’s broader digital transformation agenda while enhancing the airport’s operational resilience.
Gulf Air Group Chief Technology Officer Ahmed Naeemi said the renewed partnership highlights BAC’s commitment to maintaining reliable and advanced digital systems that form the backbone of airport operations. He added that Thales’ technology ensures the airport’s infrastructure “operates reliably every day.”
Thales’ integrated security suite leverages advanced analytics and digital tools to detect and track persons of interest, while strengthening the coordination between physical and cybersecurity measures to minimise risks.
The announcement was made in the presence of BAC Acting CEO Ahmed Janahi at the Dubai Airshow, reaffirming the airport’s focus on future-ready security solutions.
